Membership Open

If you are interested in joining this group, please fill out the application and submit a sample of your published (or polished work in progress). Advanced writers only need apply.
  • We are a very small group and keep it that way; no more than six people.
  • We meet for two hours every other Saturday morning. A firm commitment to attend meetings is required. (vacations, etc. are taken into consideration, especially during summer season, but attendance is important and not an elective.)
  • We meet in North Naples, off the south entrance to Old Highway 41, close to the Tamiami Trail (41).
  • We use the Microsoft Word "Review" editing software on computer, so one needs to know how to use that.
  • Members must have the time to critique the work of five other members (normally a chapter each) within the two week interim, between meetings -- also to send out a chapter of their own work for critique after every session.

  • We are NOT competent to work with:
  • Poets
  • Playwrights/screenplay writers
  • Writers of school or business text books
  • Writers of hard porn, religious or political opinion or scientific studies
  • We basically know and write fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction--and are qualified to give competent critique on such.

This is a very dedicated group, not a social club, (probably not a good choice if you're just interested in meeting new people) and hard working at the craft of writing good fiction. If you can meet our standards and seem like a good fit, we would love to hear from you.

    Literary Reading - June 6, 2016

Euro Pianos Naples extended an invitation to the North Naples/Bonita Springs Advanced Writing Group to provide a literary evening, in their efforts to promote the arts in Naples. Beverly Jackson and Cary Barbor were the only two members available on a day of tornado warnings, and read, they did.

Cary read an excerpt from Bob Erickson's novel, on his behalf, "Murder in Packingtown," and read two essays of her own, which were wonderfully received.

Bev read a prose poem, a standard poem and a piece of flash fiction.

Wine and finger foods were provided on the buffet table, and the guests (about fifteen of them)stayed and talked, an exhuberant and appreciative audience.

Our hostess, Sunny Reuter, the V.P. of Euro Pianos Naples, was pleased with the turnout, and said we'll do it again!
